We have exciting news here at E&E Financial – we are growing! We recently hired Elizabeth (Liz) Martin and she is now up and running as a valuable member of the team. Liz has been assisting financial advisors for 15+ years and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and most importantly – a dedication to client service. We are so excited to welcome her to the team and are grateful for the value she will be adding. You will probably be hearing more from her in the coming months and hope you will give her a warm welcome!
2022 has been a difficult year for investors so far. The S&P 500 Index just had one of its worst Aprils in decades, and May is off to a rocky start. Bond investors have not fared much better as rising interest rates have pushed down bond prices. Bond losses have made the stock market volatility feel even worse than usual. Markets don’t like uncertainty but it’s getting a healthy dose of it this year, dealing with high inflation, tighter Federal Reserve monetary policy, COVID-19 shutdowns in China, and snarling global supply chains, all while the war in Ukraine continues.
As mentioned in our prior newsletter we have been hard at work upgrading some of our technology, and we have some exciting news! &E Financial will be upgrading our Client Portal in the coming months. The new portal will provide an enhanced layout and user experience that will allow you to better monitor and stay up to date with your investments. Additionally, clients that have a financial plan on file will be able to access their financial plans and review their goals from the same login.
This months newsletter is intended to provide some helpful tips you can use to combat the impacts of inflation we are all seeing. Whether it’s at the pump or the grocery check out line, everyone across the country is feeling the impacts of higher prices. 2021 is upon us and I for one and looking forward to a NEW YEAR! We are eternal optimists here at E&E and are excited for what this year holds for us, and our beloved clients! 2020 was an interesting year to stay the least. Despite all the turmoil, we stayed focused on what’s important – YOU. We improved our technology and portfolio management capabilities, and continue to strive each day to expand our services in order to better serve your needs.
As I reflect back on this past year, one word comes to mind: grateful. I know that may not be the first thing that comes to mind in a crazy year like this, but for me tough times make me focus on what’s really important. It’s not the things around you that matter, it is the people around you.
